About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and PALORA LABS LTD (company number 17499275, registered office Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU), which runs Bookman. "We" and "us" mean PALORA LABS LTD.

By using Bookman you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Bookman.

Bookman is for learner drivers aged 17 and over booking a car test in Great Britain.

What Bookman does

• Shows open car test slots at the test centres you choose, nearest to your preferred date first.
• Sends Premium users alerts when new slots open.
• Fills in DVSA’s booking pages when you tap Autofill booking, and holds the slot for you to confirm.
• On Bookman Web, does the same with the Bookman browser extension.

You always check the details and tap Confirm, or Confirm and pay, on DVSA’s site yourself. Bookman never confirms or pays for you.

Bookman and DVSA

Bookman is not part of, affiliated with, or approved by DVSA or GOV.UK. Your booking, test fees, changes and cancellations are between you and DVSA, under DVSA’s own terms.

DVSA’s terms limit automated use of its booking service, and DVSA can cancel bookings or suspend access it believes break its rules. You choose whether to use Bookman with your own booking. We’re not responsible for decisions DVSA makes about your booking or account.

DVSA sets its own rules, including how many times you can change a test and which centres you can move to. Bookman follows them, and they may change.

Your account

• Use only your own driving licence and booking details. Booking a test for someone else isn’t allowed.
• Make sure the details you give are correct and up to date.
• Keep your phone secure. Anyone with your phone can use your Bookman account.

Fair use

When using Bookman, don’t:

• use it for anything other than your own driving test
• resell slots, or offer bookings to other people
• copy, change or reverse engineer the app, or try to get around its limits
• interfere with Bookman, its servers or other users
• break the law or DVSA’s terms

Free and Premium

• Free: 1 test centre and 3 autofill bookings a day, with ads.
• Premium: £4.99 a week. Up to 5 test centres, unlimited autofill bookings, slot alerts and no ads.
• Premium is billed weekly by Apple or Google and renews until you cancel. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Premium stays on until the end of the week you’ve paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, under their rules.
• If we change the price, we’ll tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
• DVSA’s test fees are separate, and you pay them to DVSA.

Alerts

Alerts depend on your phone, its settings and its connection, so they can arrive late or not at all. A slot may be gone by the time you open it.

What we can’t promise

We work hard to keep Bookman fast and reliable, but we can’t promise:

• that Bookman will find you an earlier test
• that a slot will still be open when you try to book it
• that DVSA’s site will be available, or work the same way
• that Bookman will always be available or free of errors

We may change or pause features, for example when DVSA changes its pages.

Our app and content

Bookman, its name, logo and design belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for your own driving test while these terms apply.

Apple and Google

If you got Bookman from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. Apple and Google aren’t party to these terms and aren’t responsible for Bookman or its support. On iPhone, Apple’s standard licence terms apply where these terms don’t cover something.

Liability

We’re responsible for loss you suffer that’s a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We’re not responsible for:

• DVSA’s decisions, including cancelled or suspended bookings
• missed tests, travel or lesson costs, or loss that wasn’t foreseeable
• business losses, as Bookman is for personal use only

Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or your rights under UK consumer law.

Ending

You can stop using Bookman and delete your account at any time, in the app or with our deletion request form. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel Premium. Cancel it with Apple or Google.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We’ll tell you why, unless the law stops us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Bookman or DVSA’s rules change. We’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app about important changes before they apply.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
